6 year old Sophia learns that Dali was an unusual artist. He painted his dreams and nightmares. He believed aliens would send him messages via his mustache and by eating camenbert cheese before going to bed, his dreams would be more interesting to paint. He believed artists were not smart at all and would take offense to being called one. He thought of himself as a genius. He became famous for being a Surrealist painter and for his unusual personality. This was also a kid friendly interview, basic facts. No Sophia has not seen any of Dali’s “other” work. This is a PG :) More info: en.wikipedia.org “Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech, 1st Marquis of Púbol (May 11, 1904 — January 23, 1989) was a prominent Spanish Catalan surrealist painter born in Figueres. Dalí was a skilled draftsman, best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work. His painterly skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters. His best-known work, The Persistence of Memory, was completed in 1931. Dalí’s expansive artistic repertoire includes film, sculpture, and photography, in collaboration with a range of artists in a variety of media. Dalí attributed his “love of everything that is gilded and excessive, my passion for luxury and my love of oriental clothes” to a self-styled “Arab lineage,” claiming that his ancestors were descended from the Moors. Dalí was highly imaginative, and also had an affinity for partaking in unusual and grandiose

Dali prints are some of the best examples of Surrealist, Cubist and Dada art found within the 20th century and this article covers the very best prints from Salvador Dali‘s career as well as detailing the secrets behind the success of this famous Spanish artist.

Salvador Dali was a truly creative artist who looked to extend his skills as far as possible by trying as many different art mediums as possible, but he excelled at painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and writing.

Dali was a personality in society at that time who was regularly reported in all sorts of strange situations as he demanded publicity in all he did not to help sell his works but just because he enjoyed it. Such behaviour was not to everyone’s taste but the quality of his work ensured that he was generally allowed to carry on as he wished without too much intervention from anyone.

Famous Dali prints included Person at the Window, Reflecting Elephants, Female Figure with Head of Flowers, The Ship, The Metamorphosis of Narcissus, Burning Giraffes in Brown, Landscape with Butterflies, Spain, The Elephants, The Persistence of Memory, Face of Mae West Which May Be Used as an Apartment, Soft Construction with Boiled Beans (Premonition of Civil War), Swans Reflecting Elephants, Ballerina in a Death’s Head, Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening, The Temptation of St. Anthony and Galatea of the Spheres and Crucifixion (Corpus Hypercubus).

To conclude, it is clear that Dali prints make great additions to your home as accurate reproductions of Salvador Dali‘s original oil paintings which covered Surrealist, Cubist and Dada art movements, among others, to a supremely high level that few others artists have managed in the whole history of 20th century art. The consistency of quality and imagination is what sets Dali out from all other artists from his period and the personality of the man with his eccentric behaviour helped to further promote the individual and the work that he gave to the world.
